Kenny, Eliza, and I did our first 5K as a family today for a sweet girl at church who has aplastic anemia.
We had forty degree weather and wind so it felt pretty chilly, but we were pumped.
The race was April Fools themed, so some people dressed up.
Finally we got Eliza all bundled up and the race started with about 200 people.
We gave Eliza odds and ends like leaves to keep her entertained. Probably the oddest thing that I saw was the campus tour guides. They were giving this massive group a tour, and the tour guides walk backwards facing the group the entire time. Eliza decided to imitate them.
Woohoo, one hour walk! I did run two miles in eighteen minutes way back when, so I just need to get my endurance back up for three miles. Still fun though!
We came back to dancing.
And giant cookies!
We hope Lauren received a boost from this event. She is beautiful, smart, and so kind and is the perfect recipient. Please pray for her recovery.
