Since becoming an Aycock in 2011, I have now attended four annual family reunions. Each year, the Aycock siblings and their families gather together at the family cabin surrounded by mountains and forests and party (the Mormon way) for a few days. Over the past three years, our themes for reunion were Christmas (we decorated the cabin, gave gifts, sang carols in July), Hawaiian (wore leis and danced), and Disney (dressed as Disney characters and watched Frozen). This year's theme was just perfect.
Kenny and I flew into Montana on Monday.
Dad, Mom, Kenny, Eliza, and I were so happy to be reunited after a whole year.
Before we left for the cabin, Kenny got to see his best friend growing up, Jon, who he hadn't seen for over three years.
I didn't realize I was craving mountains and tall grass and large skies until I got there and basked in its beauty.
We took long walks with Grandma in the morning.
Kenny and I had a run on the four wheelers exploring the countryside when we got a free moment. I wanted to drive and he may have been a little nervous since I drove us into a ditch last time.
Eliza loved bonding with her cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents.
On hot and dry Thursday and Friday, we took inner tubes and rafts down the river.
Beautiful Courtney looked like Ariel with her red hair.
After the river float, I was SO happy to visit my dear friend, Rose.
And one of my best friends, Alex, and her beautiful babies (too bad Eliza was conked out the whole time). The time went by too quickly!!
Every evening, we gathered together and had a family night directed by one of the families. We had a lesson and played games and just laughed together.
On our last day, we had our crowning activity that went along with our theme: pioneers.
We got all dressed up, packed our homemade handcarts, and went on a trek through the gorgeous fields and woods.
The kids all just made my heart melt.
Despite a handcart losing a wheel and the hot sun, the adults had a memorable, enjoyable experience as well.

I got a picture of all four Aycock siblings from youngest to oldest before we left.
Then some with the parents. I told them all to attack Kenny.
We said goodbye to the gorgeous pine trees, hills, and mountains.
Saying goodbye to family was incredibly sad. I love them all so much. I'm already pumped for next year!
