Kenny, Eliza, and I spent our spring break in Washington D.C. Our adventure started in the car with excitement, books, and unfortunately, Barney.
Our first stop: Café Rio! (Yes, this was a planned stop)
My sweet pork salad was as big as my face.
Next, we went to the D.C. temple! Kenny and I took turns in the temple. Eliza and I looked at the paintings and displays in the LDS Visitors' Center and then watched Meet the Mormons.
We liked to look up at the Christus.
Here is the face of getting caught. We were pleased with Kenny's choice of a hotel as last time I chose and the hotel floor had an unidentifiable stain.
The next day, Eliza was so excited because...
We were going to the zoo!
Our first stop was my favorite: the panda.
Here is some awesome panda footage.
Next, we saw some birds. This is where the leash came in handy. Eliza wanted to play with (throttle) those ducks.
The peacocks got so close!
This video of Eliza and the peacock is hilarious.
The flamingoes were fun, and as I remembered, smelly.
I was excited to see the elephants. This poor elephant just stood there with his head and trunk facing the wall.
Eliza loved the meercats.
I thought this was adorable. Because sometimes a banded mongoose just needs to cuddle.
I felt really sad for this gorilla.
This orangutan, however, seemed pretty happy.
You can see his personality in this video.
Kenny was excited to see the komodo dragon.
Next, we saw the seals. This seal kept swimming past Eliza and she kept missing it.
We saw a variety of amazing animals.
And some more.
We had a great time!
After the zoo, I wanted to make one more stop.
The Lincoln memorial! It was every bit as regal as I dreamed.
We then got some fresh (compared to our other options) Sheetz food and sang silly songs on the way home to keep Eliza entertained until we were slap happy.
Happy Spring Break!
