I always enjoy my time with Kenny after the baby goes to bed. Usually, we have a traditional home date. A couple nights ago, I prepared a dinner of rotisserie chicken, asparagus, salad, bread, and sparkling juice. Then we made cookies and watched The Maze Runner for the first time. All delicious and relaxing (until we got into the movie and then I felt more on edge in a fun way).
Later this week, however, we had a much different date night. Kenny is a bioengineer PhD student who is constantly needing to write and publish papers. I am making my first attempt at a story over 10,000 words (40,000 is my goal). So Kenny suggested that we read each other's papers. I read his paper on fluid structure interaction, and he read my novel in progress.
It proved entertaining and beneficial for both of us.
Some say that opposites attract, but that's not true of Kenny and me. We are very much alike in the sense that we are deeply thoughtful, quietly funny, yet can be really outgoing around people that we know well.
We even resemble each other in looks a little.
I would say that he's certainly "the one" for me and I am so glad that he is!
