The anticipation of the beach is palpable as we walk the dusty pathway from our beach house. While it can be sandy, hot, and rough on our feet, we enjoy seeing lizards, butterflies, and baby rabbits as well as wildflowers. The moment we walk up the stairs, we feel the delicious breeze from the ocean and I hold tightly to Eliza's hand as I don't trust the sparse rails and six-foot drop into the dunes (shudder).
I go onto the beach and let my feet sink into the sand as Eliza immediately digs up the soft granules with her fingers. We make our way to the water and let the waves wash over us. We (Eliza) chase seagulls with shovels.
"Side"(outside) has become even more enchanting to my almost two-year-old.
