Abby and Eliza

Since Jami and I were pregnant at the same time, gave birth seven weeks apart, and had the same delivery doctor, Abby and Eliza were pretty much destined to be friends.
Although Abby has been a few steps ahead with learning to laugh, crawl, and talk just a little sooner, they have gotten many opportunities to discover new places and toys together.
These two sweet girls love playgrounds.

And of course the park bench is more interesting than the actual toys.

Eliza will sure miss Abby when she moves. Maybe they will be roommates in college someday!

Eliza just loves Jami as well. She always wants to show Jami her toys, be held, or hold her hand.

After playing for a couple hours, I was ready to leave because of this slide. There are about five slides at this particular park and four of which that are much safer than this big one that Eliza fell in love with (Eliza loves the thrill of going down a slide even upside down).

We grabbed cupcakes on the way home and now the girls are sleeping hard. Perfect morning.

Memorial Day Parade and Festival

I had a busy weekend with a parade on Saturday and a festival on Monday.
I was so excited to take Eliza to the parade this year because she slept through it last year.
So Kenny and I walked down into our cute town and found a spot on the curb with some friends.

I loved Eliza's perplexed face when she saw the first of the parade coming.

She soon started pointing at everyone passing us.

One person gave her a Dum Dum and then every parade person who passed us stopped to give her another. We got like ten Dum Dums. Eliza was happy.

We saw some interesting floats in the parade. "Noah's Ark" and um goats playing chess.

So we actually knew these guys. The little bus was so cute!

We enjoyed spending time with friends.

And each other!

We stopped at the carnival on our way home. I had to snap a shot in front of this fire truck. (I have a fascination with the band 311 or did at least)

And there was something eerie about this carnival.

Kenny was feeling sick on Monday, so just Eliza and I went to the festival because I can't pass up a good festival.
I bought Eliza a $2 fairy wand when we got there because it was just so adorable.

Next, I noticed some yummy looking pie for $2, so Eliza and I shared a slice.

Although the sun was hot and the festival was crowded, I still loved looking around in the tents.

I especially liked these two tents. I wanted one of those necklace watches like chocolate cake (thank goodness I didn't bring a lot of money).

Next, we walked down to the museum. We saw a lot of people dressed in wartime attire.

Eliza and I relaxed under a tree while we shared some cheesy fries.

After we ate, we continued to walk around the museum on our way home.

With all of the festivities going on, it was nice to walk quietly and think about those who sacrificed and risked their lives for my freedom and my daughter's freedom and all my family and friends' freedom. I am indebted.

Happy Memorial Day!

Carriage Hill Farm: Babies at Play

Eliza and I recently went with some friends and family to Carriage Hill farm.
We began in the indoor play area complete with a large playhouse and schoolroom.

Carson just loved Eliza. Too adorable!

After maybe thirty minutes inside, the babies were ready to start exploring outside.

They peeked at some animals.

And looked at some more. Eliza was just captivated.

It was so wonderful seeing Eliza, Carson, Gracie, and Kaue exploring and playing together. Babies love to keep it simple with running and playing with dirt, rocks, etc.

Maybe just my kid with the dirt...

I loved spending time with Raquel, Katrina, and our kids. I've known Katrina since we were twelve so it is definitely strange to now have kiddos running around when we used to be running around Girls' Camp and church dances. And Raquel, I met in college and then she married into my family. We have been in sync with getting married in the same temple a few months apart and then having our first babies less than a month apart. It's neat to see where we all are now!

The weather was perfect and the farm was beautiful.

We were sure to grab some penny candy on our way out in the "general store." I love this place!
