Cozy Montana Christmas and Ohio New Year

We were so blessed to find dirt cheap tickets and spend Christmas in Montana this year. We left December 16th to drive to Ohio, flew out of Ohio on the 17th, came back to Ohio on the 28th, and came home on the 3rd. Eliza bonded with both sets of grandparents, cousins, and Nana. We played lots of games (including Pinocle, Exploding Kittens, and Signs) with both families, rode on an indoor ferris wheel, toured the Air Force museum, went to my little brother's wedding reception, and much more!

Kenny and I were so excited to take Eliza out into his winter wonderland backyard full of Montana snow.

She loved the soft snow and her grandparent's dog, Kringle.

Eliza had a new experience riding a four wheeler with Grandpa.

Grandpa held Eliza while Kenny and I took a spin.

We had a less crazy ride after that on a sled with Kenny as our snow dog.

Eliza was so cute playing with Kenny's old toys.

Later that day, Kenny and I did a session in the Billings temple. It felt so peaceful and wonderful, especially right before Christmas.

Eliza loved coloring and cuddling with Grandma. They liked watching the Curious George Christmas Special together.

One of the days, we went to Scheels and rode an indoor Ferris wheel.

It was terrifying! One slight movement felt like we were going to tip! Then Kenny heard some metal clatter and they made us get off. Apparently a bolt had popped off.

We played $1 bowling, shot some rifles, and posed with the stuffed animals.

Finally Christmas Eve came.

We sat in the kitchen while Mom made delicious cinnamon rolls.

Then Santa came!

Later, we opened our jammies and got all cozy.

I can't remember what happened here, but it was funny.

After Eliza was in bed, we all played Pinocle til late and then Kenny and I watched Elf.
Everything was set out and ready.

We had a beautiful sprinkling of snow Christmas morning.

Eliza woke up asking, "Ho ho?" She knew something was up.

Finally it was present time.

Eliza loved her bear book from Grandma and Grandpa. And she instantly shed her nightgown and wanted to put her new outfit on from them.

I got Kenny a model heart.

We got Dad Pieface. Not sure how thrilled he was.

I was so happy that Kenny found me The Forgotten Carols CD with Gene Moreford. Very hard to find. He found it at a random Barnes and Noble in Utah.

Kenny loved the collage of Italy photos that I made for him. I was excited to include our train tickets and a watercolor that we bought in Portovenere.

My loot. Cinderella, Muppets, chocolate, scarves, homemade purses, doesn't get much better than this!

Christmas dinner with tasty ham, cheesy potatoes, and peas was delicious.

We ended the night with It's a Wonderful Life, one of my favorite movies, and more games.

Then I shot the lights on the porch..

The next day, we took some fun photos and videos of Kenny's tesla coil, which he made in high school.

It was sad saying goodbye, but we are grateful for the memories and excited to see them again in soon!

I have less pictures of our time in Ohio, but we had a ball.
Kenny and I went on a date night with our friends Katrina, Kitara, Casey, Tyler, and Kate. We got pizza and walked around the Greene.

On News Year Eve, we all went to the Air Force museum.

Eliza had a talk with Walt Disney.

Luke, Ashley, and Becca arrived that night and surprised Nana and Dad. We ate lots of fun food, played games, and watched Leap Year to ring in the New Year.

Eliza loved playing with her cousins Becca, Loralee, and Logan. (Again, need more pictures!)

The next day, the whole Stanfield clan went to the church gym and set up for the reception.
The babies loved riding in Nana's walker (and Nana).

We then ate pizza, had the babies exchange gifts, and had a dance party.
Later that night, the adults exchanged gifts.

Then on Saturday, Hailey and I had fun making tons of mac n' cheese for the reception. Then we all got dolled up and partied at Philip and Lauren's reception.
Congrats you two!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
