Moments to Remember: November 2017

November has been such a fun-filled month! Kenny, Eliza, Joseph, and I had an unforgettable week with some of our best friends, Kara and Bryce, and their little guy, Leo. We went to the battle site of Antietam, to the zoo, downtown DC, and to Amish country. We talked, ate good food, and watched Christmas movies. It was such a blast and we are making plans to go see them in California. That week was also the perfect start off to the season.
The next week, Joseph turned one and we had an adorable Up birthday party for him with balloons, airplanes, baby friends, and cupcakes. I can't believe my little man is one! He is so cuddly and sweet.
This month, I also picked up an in-person tutoring job. It's just three hours a week and perfect.
I also released my second book, Hazel's Christmas Duet. I love writing! I feel like I'm "living the dream" with being a mom, teaching, and writing.
We put our tree up this last week and we've ready to celebrate our Savior's birth!
Merry Christmas!

Moments to Remember: October 2017

October started with General Conference and the month just went uphill from there! Eliza, Joseph, and I visited Ohio for two weeks to say goodbye to Caroline before she leaves for mission to California. We had a fun-filled two weeks of frozen yogurt, used bookstores, a trip to Nauvoo, cousin/best friend/Nana fun, the pumpkin festival, Kings Island, and a surprise party for Eliza and Caroline.
I love love Nauvoo and this time around I thought the Sarah Kimball and Wilford Woodruff homes were especially neat. Caroline and I had a giggle fit during Rendezvous (we finally stopped) and we did a session in the temple. It was a perfect little retreat.
I spend most of the month revising the second Knotty Pine book and revising another little story I'm working on. I also got a flier out to hopefully start freelance tutoring soon!
We had a Halloween birthday party for Eliza and had some of our best friends stay with us overnight. We laughed till late and our kids played at the party the next day. We did a Scooby book reading, pin the Scooby snack on Scooby's mouth, and a showing of Scooby Doo!
We ended the month with trick or treating. We're lucky to begin the Thanksgiving/Christmas festivities with our fun neighbors. Eliza, Joseph, and I spent the morning yesterday eating soup and listening to Christmas music at our neighbor's. We're ready!
