Moment to Remember: April 2017

April was a lot of the same (in a good way). We're still working on getting our children's book ready for publishing and we are still working on our preschool videos. The manuscript is getting really close. I feel like I almost have the story and characters right. The feedback from Kenny and Sara has been so helpful. I also joined a writers group and that has been really insightful as well. We did letter 'w' this month and plan on starting to publish the videos on YouTube once we get to 'a.'
Eliza is still loving preschool with her friends. She learned about the letter Z with me, fairy tales, and plants this month. We are trying to get lots of outside time and go to the park. And having some outings to fun places with our neighbors. She loves giving me a toy to "be." Role play is her world right now, especially with princesses who can fly with their 'cape.'
Joseph is beginning to play independently on a blanket, even on his tummy. He will coo and grab at his toys and give me a couple minutes for the dishes or laundry or writing. He "tried" the doorway jumper and oatmeal, but not quite interested yet.  He loves to smile and coo at Eliza, Kenny, and me.
Joseph had his first General Conference and Easter. Eliza and Kenny colored a General Conference train with quotes from the apostles while we ate homemade cinnamon rolls. Such an enlightening weekend! For Easter, we tried something different and had all the Easter basket/hunt activity on Saturday and focused on the resurrection on Sunday. This arrangement actually made the holiday more relaxing and enjoyable for us all. We woke up Sunday morning and gathered at our kitchen table for breakfast and videos about the resurrection. We felt spiritually fed before walking to church a couple hours later.
We had some fun outings as a family. We went downtown D.C. to the Air and Space Museum. While we had lots of rain and crowds from a science march, we enjoyed meeting up with friends and seeing a show in the planetarium. Afterwards, Eliza loved the hands-on section and the astronaut potty.
We had a great time with Alex and Raquel and their family visiting us towards the end of the month. We had fun talking while the kids played and we celebrated Alex's birthday on the last day that they were here.
Overall, good, happy month!
