Preschool Halloween Party

Eliza had a preschool Halloween party with some of her new friends. They came all dressed up (mostly princesses) and started off with some ghost/pumpkin bowling. We then made some apple stamps to make some pretty awesome pumpkin paintings. Story time followed with the book called The Biggest Pumpkin Ever by Steven Kroll. The kids were then ready for a feast of pumpkin patch dirt cups, pumpkin cheesecake dip with apple slices, clementine "pumpkins," and sprinkled orange cookies. Then dancing to Halloween music and playing before posing in front of the photo wall. We are loving getting to know the people in our new area!

Happy Halloween!

Zoo in October

This cute little birthday girl got spoiled at the zoo the day before she turned three. We were lucky to spend the day with some new friends. Eliza was delighted with the elephants, sea lions, orangutan, tiger, and lion. The adorable sea lion swam on his back and the tiger entertained us with his "roar."
Ironically, Eliza told me her favorite animals were the frogs (the pictured statue and frog on the carousel). I guess riding the animal makes the difference.
Being the week before Halloween, we saw many spooky, silly displays including skeletons taking a bath, having a birthday party, and getting married. We had a beautiful, seasonal day.

Pumpkin Donuts and Silo Slides

Fall is my favorite. I love the changing leaves, pumpkin patches, hayrides, fresh apples, and seasonal donuts. Combine that with a fun farm and I'm golden.
Not long after we moved, some friends invited us to a local farm event full of potato sack slides, a petting zoo, a cow train, a pumpkin patch, an apple orchard, several mazes, hayride, and freshly-made apple cider donuts. The weather was overcast and perfect. The whole farm felt clean and not overcrowded. Combine that with the kids' excitement and we were full of fall fever.
Eliza just lost her mind on every single slide. She has her adventurous side!
We will definitely be up for round two next year!
